The session will be a hands-on introduction. We will discuss first of all why Numpy is important for scientific applications. The following topics will be covered: creation of arrays, indexing and slicing, iteration over arrays, elementary operations with arrays, the concept of broadcasting, universal functions as well as masked arrays. In the last part we will introduce Scipy, which is built on top of Numpy.
